Hi! My name is Gelato! I’m a young, playful black-and-tan Cavalier who loves nothing more than relaxing on a comfy sofa with my people. I’m potty trained — as long as you give me enough time outside (sometimes I get excited and run back in before I’m finished!). I’m still learning to feel safe in the world, so being approached or seeing fast movements can make me nervous. Because of that, I’m not quite ready for leash walks, and crates aren’t my favorite place. But if you’re okay with me hanging out freely in your home, I’ll be a perfect gentleman. I’ve been very well-behaved in my foster home. My foster family says I’m getting braver every day — I just need a little patience and understanding. Even though I don’t love being approached, I will come to you for pets, snuggles, and quiet companionship. I’m happiest when I can be in the same room with my family, and I sleep with them at night. One of my absolute favorite things is running around my fenced backyard with the three other Cavaliers in my foster home — we have the best time chasing each other through the “snow tunnels” they shovel for us in winter! I also love looking out the window. If I spot a bunny or squirrel, I’ll be sure to alert you, but otherwise I’m a pretty quiet guy. I’d do best in a calm home with older kids or adults only. I enjoy the company of other dogs but would also be fine as your one-and-only. A fenced yard would be wonderful for me! If you think we might be a perfect match, please send in an application.
