Pixie is a smart, playful, incredibly lovable young pup with so much affection to give. At around a year old, she’s in that perfect stage where she’s full of fun but already showing how trainable and eager-to-please she is. She gets along beautifully with our calm 10-year-old dog and picked up “sit” for treats and mealtimes almost instantly. She’s learning to walk nicely on the leash with her harness, and she responds kindly to strangers who want to say hello. We haven’t had the chance to introduce her to children yet, but based on her gentle, social personality, we believe she’ll do very well with respectful kids. Pixie is doing great with potty training and goes outside regularly when kept on a routine. She rests peacefully in her crate for naps and downtime. If she goes in the crate while she’s still feeling playful, she may protest with a little barking or whining — but as soon as you place a blanket over her crate, she settles right into a cozy nap. As with most one-year-olds, Pixie loves toys but is still learning what counts as a toy and what doesn’t. A bit of puppy-proofing (goodbye, shoes and glasses!) keeps her safe and out of trouble. Pixie is overflowing with love and enthusiasm — she adores snuggling but may need a minute to settle because she is very generous with kisses. With a little guidance as she continues to mature, she’ll make a truly wonderful family dog in a home with or without children or other pets.
