Meet Janet - a 3-year old female Tri-Color. She is almost ready for a life of leisure and love with her forever family. When Janet first came to her foster family, she was scared and spent a lot of time in her crate. Day-by-day, she's come out of her shell and has learned how to drink from a bowl of water, use the bathroom outside and how to go up the stairs. She's also learned that humans can provide love and comfort, and she's yet to find a lap she isn't happy to curl up in. Her favorite activity is snuggling, but she's started showing off her playful side by playing fetch with a toy, chewing on bones and chasing after bunnies in the backyard. Janet would benefit from a fenced in yard, as she's still working on leash walking, and prefers to use the bathroom while free roaming in the yard. She does well with potty training when kept on a schedule and let out frequently, but does not yet signal when she needs to go outside. Janet enjoys being in her crate for quiet time or when left alone, but prefers to sleep in a dog bed beside your bed or even better...cuddled up in bed with YOU. Janet is a sweet and gentle dog, and will make a wonderful addition to a family who can patiently continue teaching her basic commands, potty training and leash walking. She's extremely food motivated and a quick learner, but is still fairly timid and will take time to become the confident dog she is capable of being. She loves children of all ages and does well with both small and large dogs. Will you bring this sweet and petite gal home in the New Year to give her a fresh start with the loving family she so desperately deserves?
