Hi, my name is Dutton and I am a 1 year old tri-color boy who would like to come home with you. Let me tell you about myself. 1) “Happy Play, Happy Dog” is my motto. I’m great at fetch. If I want to play I may even give you a little “body slam” to get your attention. 2) Going on walks is my #2 fav and I do it very well with a collar and leash. 3) They say I’m “housebroken” (I didn’t do it) but you have to know my signals to go out. If you don’t I may have an accident in the house. 4) I will play with anyone; men, women, boys, girls, young, or old, cats or dogs. However, I like to jump on people and they say I can’t do that. I will need more training to help me remember this. 5) We are working on some commands (with treats, of course) and I like to “sit” but “stay” is hard, especially if someone is visiting or a door is open (I’m an escape artist). So it’s up to you to watch me and help me with not jumping or running out the door. It’s said I’m friendly, playful, and outgoing. And also demanding and dominant. I say I’m still young and learning. I like to ride in cars, I will sleep through the night, and I will tolerate baths, toe nail clipping, and ear cleaning but it helps to have treats on hand in case I get a little rowdy. I feel I will be happiest in a forever home: where one or more members are home all day, where there is a fenced in yard, where I get several walks a day, and where I’m not left alone for long (I have mild separation anxiety.) Oh, and by the way, I am a big fan of licking: faces, arms, ears, hands. You will find this out when you visit me, which I hope you will do.
