FOSTER WILL ADOPT Well this handsome boy is Victor. Victor has retired from his previous life as a conformation show dog and breeder. Due to his conformation training, he has learned to stay close to his human, walks very nice on a leash, but unfortunately does not know how to “sit”. He never sits, EVER! Victor’s personality is just coming out. He enjoys petting, but will not search it out on his own. At the moment, sleeping and following his foster mom is his full time occupation. However, he is learning to explore the outdoors and is beginning to wag his tail to show appreciation. Victor will need a fenced in yard because he will scamper away when off lead or dart out of open doors when given the opportunity. He can be trusted inside the home and does not need to be crated. However, house training is still a work in progress since he was trained not to eliminate while on a leash. Again, a fenced in yard would help in this area. Victor does not need a canine companion, but having a well-trained, balanced canine sibling may help with his training and socialization skills. The vet heard a heart murmur at a Grade IV on a scale of VI. Murmurs at this level are often found in older Cavaliers; Victor shows no symptoms of failure and does not require medication. As for any Cavalier, at least yearly veterinary visits are required to note any change Victor is a not an active boy, and would just be happy being with his human. Could it be you?
